Dubbed “the Water Machine” by the first children who delighted in its colorful spinners and plastic tubes over the summer, the new water play installation on the rooftop of the synagogue embodies the spirit of our Early Childhood Center (ECC), where play is at the heart of learning.
“As children figure out how to move plastic balls from one level to
the next, and explore water flow by changing the many available spouts,
they become scientists and delight in the sensation of water,” says Lori
Schneider, director of the ECC.
Generously funded by the ECC community, the installation was created by Brooklyn-based firm May + Watkins Design, whose work appears in children’s museums and public art spaces across the country.
