Our 2s program starts by working closely with families to gain each child’s trust and to create a sense of community as they transition from the home environment to school. During this year, children learn hands on through the use of sensory materials and experiences. Among the tools of play in the classrooms are sand, water, clay, play dough, puzzles, table games, manipulative toys, dramatic play props, science equipment, books, paint, paper, and markers. Music and cooking are regular activities and are incorporated into the celebration of Jewish holidays.
The 2s Program meets from 9:10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., two or three days per week. For children 2 ½ and up, there is a five-day 2s program that meets from 9 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. Lunch is provided by each family and served in the classrooms.
