Our Domestic Civil Liberties Task Force and Social Action Committee respond to the hurricane devastation in Texas:
The Stephen Wise community stands in solidarity with the victims of unprecedented flooding and widespread devastation in Texas. We read in the Talmud that when one person dies, it is as if an entire world is destroyed. We mourn for those who lost their lives in this tragedy. Our hearts go out to the people who have lost loved ones and homes. We pray for the stabilization of the city of Houston.
With the generous support of our broader community, we hope the people of Houston can begin to heal.
The Union for Reform Judaism Greene Family Camp in Texas is providing shelter and services for those in need. To support these special efforts at the Greene Family Camp, please make a donation through the URJ.
In Solidarity,
