On January 28, our Early Childhood Center’s Winter Auction brought together ECC families, teachers, administrators, and friends of the school for a dazzling evening of support that raised $190,000 for the school.
These critical funds will support the ECC’s operating budget, and $10,000 will go towards this year’s special project, a scholarship fund for new families. “The evening surpassed all expectations,” said Lori Schneider, director of the ECC. “It was a night that highlighted the dedication of our families and the strength of our community.”
Auction committee co-chairs Elyse Benson, Laura Braunstein, Lauren Dell, Alisa Mall, Jackie Stern, Rachel Tannebaum, and Amy Wesley worked tirelessly for a year to plan the event. Themed around “Beautiful ECC Island,” with tropical drinks and decorations, the event featured more than 200 silent auction items donated by community members, from a home sing-along with Cantor Daniel Singer to unique jewelry and accessories. A live auction offered such exclusive experiences as tickets to Hamilton on Broadway and a Hollywood getaway with a private tour of Paramount Studios.
This year’s special project is still open. To donate funds to support a scholarship fund for new ECC families, please contact Lori Schneider at 212-877-4050, ext. 224, or lschneider@swfs.org, or donate online.
