Stephen Wise Free Synagogue requires all people who are eligible for vaccination to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to enter the synagogue building. Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination upon arrival.
Stephen Wise strongly recommends that all people follow the CDC’s COVID-19 prevention guidelines, including staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.
Anyone who is not fully vaccinated for reasons other than age should make an appointment to speak with our executive director, Sandy Divack Moss, by contacting email@example.com or (212) 877-4050, ext. 228, before entering the synagogue building. These circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Anyone not yet eligible because of their age or for any other reason will have 60 days from the time they initially become eligible to become fully vaccinated.
For the purposes of this policy, “fully vaccinated” will mean that at least two weeks have passed since the person’s receipt of the final dose in their primary COVID-19 vaccination series.
Mask-Wearing is Optional For Anyone Entering Our Building
Stephen Wise Free Synagogue is not currently requiring masks for anyone entering our building. Anyone who prefers to wear a mask in our building is encouraged to do so. We have set aside a special section in our sanctuary for people who want to wear masks during services and prefer to sit apart from those not wearing masks. Should the circumstances change again, we may update our policy.
Guests Should Be Made Aware of Our Policies
For all our congregants bringing guests to programs or worship services in our building, in particular families celebrating b’nai mitzvah: please make sure that all your guests are aware of our COVID-19 safety policy.
