Vaccination Requirements
Stephen Wise Free Synagogue requires all people ages five and older[1] who are eligible for vaccination to be fully vaccinated[2] (including all boosters for which they are eligible) against COVID-19 in order to enter the synagogue building. Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination upon arrival.
Anyone who is not fully vaccinated for reasons other than age should make an appointment to speak with our executive director, Sandy Divack Moss, by contacting mkeren@swfs.org or (212) 877-4050, ext. 228, before entering the synagogue building. These circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
[1] Children who are not yet five years old will have 60 days following their fifth birthdays before they are required to be fully vaccinated.
[2] For the purposes of this policy, “fully vaccinated” will mean that at least two weeks have passed since (1) the person’s receipt of a second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series or their receipt of a single-dose vaccine; AND (2) the person’s receipt of all COVID-19 booster shots for which they are eligible. For those who are not yet eligible for a booster once this policy goes into effect, Stephen Wise will allow a 60-day grace period to obtain the booster following their initial eligibility.
Mask-Wearing is Required For Anyone Ages 2+ Entering Our Building
Stephen Wise Free Synagogue is temporarily requiring masks for anyone entering our building two and older. In accordance with Department of Health mandates, our Early Childhood Center is still requiring masks. Should the circumstances change again, we will, of course, change our approach and update our policy.
Guests Should Be Made Aware of Our Policies
For all our congregants bringing guests to programs or worship services in our building, in particular families celebrating b’nai mitzvah: please make sure that all your guests are aware of our COVID-19 safety policy.
