On Wednesday Rabbi Hirsch was among a dozen rabbis who met for nearly two hours with The New York Times’ publisher over the Jewish community’s concerns about an anti-Semitic cartoon and perceived bias in The Times’ Israel coverage.
In response to criticism of Israel following the country’s recent elections, Stephen Wise Free Synagogue Senior Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch today sent a memorandum to leaders of the North American Reform movement outlining the factors degrading the relationship between Israel and American Jews and recommending ways to improve it.

On Friday, April 19, more than 200 people gathered at Stephen Wise to retell the Passover story and remember our exodus from Egypt. Children made crafts representing the 10 plagues and searched for the afikomen while their grown-ups enjoyed pot roast and matzo ball soup.
