The midterm elections are quickly approaching. Volunteers are needed now more than ever to ensure all eligible voters have the opportunity to vote. Join us as we hear from Common Cause New York’s Grassroots Organizer Abbey McHugh about Election Protection, a coalition of local, state, and national, nonpartisan organizations that work year-round to ensure that all voters have an equal opportunity to vote and have that vote count. During this program, weโll learn about opportunities to volunteer to help ensure a smooth election. Following this program, we will be writing postcards to empower under-represented voters to fully participate in elections.
Abbey McHugh has been a grassroots organizer for over a year with Common Cause New York working on local, state, and national campaigns to promote the freedom to vote. This November, Abbey and the Common Cause New York election protection team will focus on voter education statewide and help all eligible New Yorkers cast their ballots through various election protection programs.
