Key Presidential Transitions & The Changing U.S.-Israel Relationship

How do presidential transitions affect the United States’ relationship with Israel? Join special guest speaker Prof. KC Johnson as he explores the 1960, 1980, and 2016 presidential transitions in particular. He will also examine the U.S. Congress’s responses to these administration changes and take a look at the current administration.

KC Johnson is a professor of history at Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center, where he has taught since 1999. He received his doctorate from Harvard University. For several years, he worked with a team of historians transcribing the secret presidential recordings of John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard Nixon; his work focused on the Johnson administration. He was Fulbright Distinguished Professor in the Humanities at Tel Aviv University in 2007–2008.
