Congregational and Communal Adult Education Curriculum
On May 31 and June 1, 2023, over 300 Reform movement leaders — professionals and laity, joined together to engage in rich conversations about the future of the Reform movement.…
They identified the challenges facing North American Jewry and the promise and possibilities ahead, should we carry forward with innovation and vision.
The Re-CHARGING Reform Judaism adult education curriculum is designed to bring the big ideas of the conference to your community. With your facilitation, your learners will jump into high-level conversations — What’s the place of Zionism in Reform Judaism? What’s the place of politics in Jewish social justice work? What will make religious life meaningful for the next generation? As they are inspired and challenged by the opinions of those who headlined the conference, they will add their own perspectives on these issues and identify ways for your community to re-CHARGE and recommit to your own bright future.
COURSE STRUCTURE
There are five sessions. Each session begins with an introduction by the facilitator. Following the introduction, learners watch brief video clips from the conference and then engage in guided conversations to reflect on and respond to what they have watched. Each session concludes with a closing conversation that pulls together the big ideas from the session and asks the learners how they imagine applying these ideas in their own community.
