The rational world sees mysticism as a kind of new-age distraction for lost souls, but it has always played a significant role in Jewish religious life.
How do we distinguish between the trivial and the genuine article? And is it still relevant?
Join Rabbi Jeremy Rosen as he delves into Jewish mysticism and examines the miracle of Hanukkah through its lens.
Rabbi Jeremy Rosen is a graduate of Cambridge University and Mir Yeshivah in Jerusalem with a doctorate in philosophy. Apart from serving as a rabbi in the U.K., he has been headmaster of Carmel College; professor at the Faculty for Comparative Religion in Wilrijk, Belgium; and director of Yakar Educational Foundation and Community Center in London. He is currently the rabbi of the Persian Jewish community of Manhattan and lectures at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan.
