Take part in one of Stephen Wise Free Synagogue’s most popular traditions: our annual Purim spiel, featuring congregants of all ages and levels of talent! This year’s play, “INDIASPORA JEWS and the TEMPLE OF ZOOM,” will follow a troupe of ancient Babylonians in search of Jews for a Purim spiel — and features tunes by Sir Elton John and timely humor that’s sure to lift everyone’s spirits.
Adults and children 13 years and older are invited to read through the script and audition over Zoom on Sunday, January 3, at 1 p.m. Please plan to sing a capella — anything from “Happy Birthday” to an Elton John masterpiece. Rehearsals will be held on Zoom and will take place on Wednesday evenings and/or early Sunday afternoons. You may register here or address any questions to purim@swfs.org, or call Rabbi Samantha Natov at (212) 877-4050, ext. 244.
Children spielers in second grade and older do not need to audition and will be asked to join rehearsals soon. Sign them up now by emailing purim@swfs.org.
