Join us for services followed by a special reception featuring light bites, refreshments, great company, conversation, and hear from NATAN, one of the first organizations on the scene in Poland in early March 2022, when Ukrainian refugees began pouring across the border. Speaking will be NATAN Advisory Board Chair Alan Silberstein and psychiatrist Dr. Gilian Zeldin, who has provided emergency care to refugees inside Ukraine. Light fare and beverages will be served.

Alan Silberstein is financial services expert who retired as CEO of Western Union. Besides chairing the Advisory Board for NATAN Worldwide Disaster Relief, he serves as Chair of the Forward, publisher of the largest Jewish American publication, and on the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University,. Alan is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations where he sponsors an annual lecture on refugee policy.

Dr. Gillian Zeldin is a physician with a prior academic career in liver transplant medicine at PENN and Drexel School of Medicine and drug development at Novartis.  She has spent 5 months in Poland and Ukraine since the start of the crisis- initially working in the ‘Israeli clinic’ (NATAN clinic) on the Polish border and more recently establishing two clinics serving refugees and volunteers with the NGO The Canada Way. One clinic is in Poland on the border and the other is in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv -and also working as an itinerant physician to other shelters.
