Our “deep dive” program is going even deeper! Join Rabbis Samantha Natov and Dalia Samansky for back-to-back Saturday deep dives into prayer and Torah. Rabbi Natov will investigate the meanings of prayers, where they fall in the Shabbat service, and how different musical settings affect the way we understand them. Meanwhile, Rabbi Samansky will unfurl the Torah and go straight to the source to help us further our understanding of Jewish teachings. Each month’s study sessions will be thematically linked, allowing you to dive even deeper into study — come to both (or either)!
This month, we’ll be diving deep into the concept of the soul. Our Sages said that upon awakening we should recite “Elohai neshama“: “My God, the soul that you have placed within me is pure…” On November 16, Rabbi Natov will explore this prayer, taking us back to the moment of creation. And the following week, on November 23, Rabbi Samansky will explore more about our soul in the Torah.
