with Rabbis Natov and Rifkin and Famous Fat Dave
Meet at Seward Park (corner of Hester St. and Essex St.)
There might be some debate over why exactly we eat dairy on Shavuot, but everyone agrees that it’s a delicious tradition! Join Rabbis Sam Natov and Rena Rifkin for a tour led by Famous Fat Dave to some of our favorite Lower East Side eateries — Russ and Daughters, Pickle Guys, Kossar’s Bialys, Yonah Schimmel’s, and Ray’s Candy Store — to enjoy some dairy (and parve) delights. The cost to join the tour is $60 per person.
If you are a member who would like to attend but need help covering the cost of this event, please contact Rabbi Natov.
Famous Fat Dave moved to New York in 1997 to live out his culinary dreams driving a bread truck for Orwasher’s Bakery, pickling at Guss’ Pickles, and as a cheesemonger at Murray’s Cheese Shop. His food writing has appeared in Time Out New York, Gothamist, and more. But it’s his critically acclaimed and wildly popular eating tour that puts the “famous” in Famous Fat Dave.
