“We will not be satisfied until ‘justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream,'” said Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., quoting Amos in his iconic 1963 speech at the Lincoln Memorial. Join us as we celebrate Dr. King’s legacy and explore the use of Biblical references and allusions in his “I Have a Dream” speech. Led by our congregant Rabbi Neal Borovitz and Social Justice Program Associate Steven Morris, we’ll examine how Dr. King interpreted the Hebrew scriptural references and the role he saw the Prophets play in both Christian and Jewish social justice traditions.
