Don’t miss the debut of “ADA—MY MOTHER THE ARCHITECT,” opening this Mother’s Day, May 8, at NYC Angelika Theater! Directed by award-winning filmmaker Yael Melamede (Floyd Abrams: Speaking Freely, My Architect), this moving documentary offers an intimate look at the pioneering Israeli architect Ada Karmi-Melamede through her daughter’s eyes.
Premiered at the Jerusalem Film Festival, where it won Best Cinematography, the film explores Ada’s groundbreaking legacy, creativity, and the balance of motherhood and career. It celebrates an unheralded Israeli artist who gave physical form to some of Israel’s highest democratic ideals, including the Supreme Court Building, The Israel Institute for Democracy, and Ben Gurion University.
Celebrate the opening with special screenings and Q&As with Ada and Yael, featuring moderators like MSNBC Host Ali Velshi and Podcast Host Vanessa Kroll among others.
“A spectacular film on so many levels; the story-telling, the cinematography, the editing. Ada and her stories are tremendous, and director Yael Melamede’s ability to tell a story about Israel with love and criticism is as remarkable. This is a giant of a film.” – Ali Velshi, MSNBC
