3’s Program
The
curriculum for children 3 to 4 years old reflects the interests and
developmental abilities of the age group, in particular
increased attention span, more refined motor skills and greater problem
solving skills. The curriculum also focuses on reinforcing group skills
and the development of expressive language.
The 3’s classroom is organized so that children have access
to many different materials. They move freely through the classroom,
often spending some of that time working with a teacher either individually
or in a
small
group.
The 3’s program meets from 9am to 1pm five days per week. Lunch is provided
by each family and served in the classrooms.
An
extended day program is offered for 3 year-olds. Parents can elect to
send their children to any (or all) of the four extended-day
classes offered weekly, Monday through Thursday. On each of these days
after school, there is a different class activity planned for the children.
Examples of some of the exciting activities we have offered
include Art, Sculpture, Science and Introduction to Sign Language. This
voluntary program extends the 3-year-olds’ day to 2:45 pm.
